Texas Ropewicks: UX Writing & Website Design

Project Overview

Client

Texas Ropewicks

Project

Research, design, create, and stand up a website to sell agricultural equipment

The need for this equipment has passed, so the website is no longer live.

Scope

Research and write or curate the copy, and identify and incorporate images for the website; create the website

Project Brief

Design and build a website to market agricultural equipment

The target audience was farmers, primarily in West Texas.

Problem

Create an information and marketing website for an agricultural business that sold herbicide equipment when farmers were struggling with glyphosate-resistant weeds.

Process

I met with the franchise owner to determine his expectations for the website, then designed wireframes, which I iterated on based on feedback from the franchise owner and the parent company.

Once the owner approved the design, I built the website in WordPress and maintained it until the business closed.

My Role

I was responsible for the entire design and creation process. This included

  • copy and microcopy: both research and curated information from the parent company
  • wireframes in various fidelities
  • iterations
  • final mockup
  • construction, updates, and maintenance in WordPress
